Grace House Summer Party

Grace House hosted the Summer Party on 17th August for residents and relatives.  Refreshments were provided of fish and chips and ice cream from Mr Whippy ice cream and enjoyed entertainment from singer Stephanie Belle.

Visit to Watercress Line in Alresford

Last week a group of staff and residents visited the Watercress Line in Alresford for a trip on the steam train plus a lunch on the move.

Refreshments on Hot Days

It’s important to keep hydrated and refreshed on hot summer days.  As well as lots of cold drinks, fans and ice lollies – it was a treat to be visited by Mr Whippy ice cream van to offer 99 ice creams to all residents!

Small Pets visit the Care Home

Pony Pals visited the care home brining with them a selection of small petting animals plus a goose!  Residents enjoyed holding the animals.

Lunch at the Spotted Cow

A group of residents and staff enjoy a regular Wednesday lunch at local pubs including the Spotted Cow, which is located just behind the Care Home.  The staff at the pub spoil the residents and make sure that they enjoy a fantastic lunch.

D-Day 80th Anniversary

Family and friends have been invited to join the staff and residents at the care home to remember the D-Day Landings on Tuesday 4th June – 1pm-4pm. The lovely Stephanie Belle will be performing music from the 40’s followed by tea and coffee and cakes.

Summer Planting

Today Activities Coordinator Kathryn worked with a group of residents to plant boxes and hanging baskets with Summer flowers to add some colour to the outside of the care home.

Music in the Garden

A group of residents were invited to Woodlarks to watch a performer who sang old favourites and played the saxophone in the garden.  The residents enjoyed an afternoon tea of scones and cream as they enjoyed the music.

Petting Zoo visits Grace House

Pony Pals – a small animal petting zoo visiting the care home today.  Residents were able to have a cuddle with a variety of animals including guinea pigs, rabbits and a goose!  One of the favourite visitors was Reggie, a gorgeous 4 month old Persian kitten.

Flamenco Dancing

We were invited to join Woodlarks Care Home to watch a flamenco dancer perform in their Home. We were very welcomed and had coffee, tea and nibbles. It was a lovely morning socialising and being entertained.

Sing-a-long with Tracey

Every month Tracey comes and entertains the residents with a sing-a-long.  Everyone enjoys the music – including the staff who have been known to dance along to the music.

Christmas Carol Singing

South Farnham Junior School came to sing Carols to us all today.  It was beautiful and got the residents into the Christmas Spirit.
